We offer 6 courses. A students begins course one already knowing the letters and vowels. After 6 semesters the student will have learned the fundamentals of Arabic and have read over 300 pages of classical Arabic before graduating.

Part One

FCA 100 – Fundamental Classical Arabic: Words

In this course you learn the three parts of speech (nouns, verbs and prepositions) along with conjugation of verbs and the different states of words (raf, nasb, jarr).

Prerequisite: Familiarity with Arabic vowels and letters.

Part Two

FCA 105 – Fundamental Classical Arabic: Words Advanced

In this course you learn to use an Arabic-English Dictionary to translate written Arabic the 10 Forms.

Prerequisite: FCA 100

Part Three

FCA 110 – Fundamental Classical Arabic: Sentences

In this course you will learn to construct sentences, translate and access texts. Additionally, you will learn about the two types of sentences, subject and predicates, adjectives, and words in the state of raf, nasb and jarr along with how to break down sentences while doing translations.

Prerequisite: FCA105

Part Four

RCA 220 – Reading Classical Arabic: Beginner

In this course you will read Qasas Al-Nabiyyn قصص النبيين a famous book by Shaykh Abu Al-Hasan Al-Nadawi. This is written in voweled Arabic about the Prophets which will help students increase their speed and vocabulary acquisition. During each class students are required to read, translate, and analyze grammar from this book. Additionally, students will learn the concept of weak letter verbs.

Part Four

RCA 240 – Reading Classical Arabic: Intermediate

In this course you will contineu to read Qasas Al-Nabiyyn قصص النبيين a famous book by Shaykh Abu Al-Hasan Al-Nadawi. In addition, you will go over advanced grammatical topics such as ‘aml and the meaning of prepostions

Prerequisite: RCA 220

Part Four

RCA 260 – Reading Classical Arabic: Advanced

In this course you will finish reading Qasas Al-Nabiyyn قصص النبيين a famous book by Shaykh Abu Al-Hasan Al-Nadawi. Some topics you will cover alongside are numbers, how to use an Arabic dictionary and I’raab books.
