Q: Will there be projects or homework assignments?

Yes, you can expect to do 1-2 hours of work per class. Assignments will be reviewed at the start of every class. There will be a final assessment at the end of each level.

Q: Do you provide recordings?

Yes. You will have access to recordings for the entire year.

Q: What are the dates and timing for the class?

The class will begin sometime in September. Timings are TBD. Please fill out the waitlist and put down your available times.

Q: Will art supplies be provided?

You can purchase all of the including art supplies for an extra $50. Otherwise, a list of supplies and where to find them will be provided before the class starts.

Q: How much time will I need to dedicate to this course?

For our scholar program, it is important that you are not taking another full-time Arabic course. Supplementary materials are always welcomed, however, staying focus and on top of the material is important. One is able to take this course and have a job or be in school. We often get asked why the pace is not faster. Learning Arabic is unlike other languages. After every lesson, your brain needs to rest and process the information, similar to working out where you muscles need to rest. The rest periods between classes is designed so that knowledge stays in your brain longer. We recommend a minimum of 3 hours per week dedicated to Arabic.

Q: Will I become an Arabic Calligraphy expert?

This course is designed to give you all of the information necessary to write the basic lettering for Arabic Calligraphy in the Thuluth script.
