Q: Would you recommend the self-paced or the cohort?

Students are more likely to be successful in the cohort model. Around 90% of our students succeed in the cohort. Students who are not self-motivated will find the self-paced more difficult. This course is meant for people who are extremely determined, watch the recordings, and book office hours on their own.

Q: How quickly can I complete the program?

The self-paced program is dependent per student. Students who have studied before and want a refresher or a more organized way of studying can finish this program within 4-6 months. However, the typical pace would be around 15 months if one studies 2 hours a week.

Q: What are the prerequisites for this course?

Students only need to know the Arabic letters and vowels to get started. While the ability to recite—even without full understanding—is beneficial, it's not required. Knowing how to write is also helpful, but we've found that students tend to pick it up quickly with practice. For those who feel they need additional support, we offer supplemental resources to help them along the way.

Q: How do office hours work?

Once you enroll, you'll schedule a call with one of our teaching specialists, who will help you create a personalized study plan. Most students book office hours every two weeks or whenever they need extra support with an assignment. All of your submitted assignments are automatically graded by our system, providing you with instant feedback to keep you on track.

Q: How is this different than the Scholar Cohort?

The scholar cohort is designed for those who want to balance their learning alongside work, family, and other responsibilities, providing structure and community support. In contrast, the self-paced program is ideal for individuals who: Prefer the flexibility of learning at their own pace Have dedicated time to deeply focus on the material without external deadlines Enjoy independent study and self-guided progress May have unpredictable schedules and need maximum flexibility Are self-motivated and disciplined in managing their learning journey Prefer to accelerate or slow down their studies according to personal goals
