What's the difference between Form I and Form II verbs?

Great question! Form I (فَعَلَ) is the base form. Form II (فَعَّلَ) doubles the middle letter and often means:

  • • Intensification: كَسَرَ → كَسَّرَ (to shatter)
  • • Causation: عَلِمَ → عَلَّمَ (to teach)

Can someone explain the difference between حال and تمييز? I keep mixing them up in i'raab exercises.
